Installing on XO
To install the E-Paath activities bundle on an XO follow these steps after you have downloaded the file:
- Copy E-Paath-latest.xo to a USB drive
- Insert the USB drive in the XO
- Start the terminal activity on the XO and give the following command:
sugar-install-bundle [path to E-Paath-latest.xo file on the USB drive]
- The activity bundle should now be available on the task bar.
Installing and running on other computers
In order to run the E-Paath learning activities first you will need to install the Squeak runtime system. You can download the latest release from http://squeak.org/
After
you have the Squeak runtime installed:
- Change the file name E-Paath-latest.xo to E-Paath-latest.zip
- Extract the contents of the 'E-Paath-latest.zip' archive to an empty folder
- Open the image file '\EPaati.activity\epaati\epaati.image'
Unlocking for modifying/veiwing source
The Epaath activities is in the 'User mode' by default, in this mode most of the commands are disabled. If you want to see the code or to be able to modify the contents it has to be opened in the 'Author mode'. Follow these steps to change modes:
- Press ALT+SHIFT+W to access the World menu
- Select 'OLE...' from the world menu
- Select the appropriate mode

author mode |
In this mode all the commands and menus are available, you can view the source code and make changes. |

user mode |
This is the default mode. Most of the menus and commands are disabled. |

toggle flaps |
Shows or hides all the flaps. |
| |
deploy |
This is the same as the 'user mode' but in this mode Squeak does not show an error message if the changes file is not found. |
